I am such a weird mood today that I listen to this:
How To Properly Use A Semicolon by Solarbear
That title is awesome XD
Today is weird... and good... weirdly good... I like this day, migraine be damned.
I'm really enjoying this.
Atmosphere - Star Shaped Heart
Qualo - Gunshots, Warfare...Revelations
... I don't know why but somehow this actually sounds awesome... in a cheap, stupid, screwed up way.
Everyone tells me this reminds them of the music inside malls from when they where kids. I can't help but think of department stores when hear it, so I guess it's not a far off idea.
hmm... well, there is a bit easy listening somewhere in there, but it feels somewhat ripped apart... if I had to liken it to something, then listening to an allmost dead tape you played and overdubbed so often that the quality is so degraded that the music on it is hardly recognizable unless you allready know it... wich however IS a highly nostalgic feeling, agreed on that.
It does kind of have that sound too it too. I remember hand dubbing the radio as a kid, but eventually I kept going over the tapes as I found new songs I liked, and it did begin to distort and fade in and out by 5th time of doing it.
lol, yeah, know that XD Actually kind of have the feeling that my liking for distortion and experimentation stems from that a tidbit... I mean, I didn't recognize Pink Floyd' The Wall the first time I heard it via cd over a non-botched speaker . . . I was so used to my old, degraded tape-copy and my speakers made of salvaged tv-parts that the music I knew sounded allmost completely different... especially the darker parts, I knew in a far more visceral, detached sound... and well, from there to industrial is only a very small jump.
on that note:
Goodbye Blue Sky by Pink Floyd
wich used to be and still is one of my fav tracks from Pink Floyd
I remember you mentioning that that tape was your first exposure to music, didn't you?
not really the first exposure but the first recording I owned... insofar that it was a gift along with a tapedeck from my parents when I was really young.
I see, I remember my first radio, but I don't remember my first recording or experience with music.
Two of my favourite music videos.
Kottonmouth Kings - Spies
Mac Dre ft. Dubee - Stool Pigeon
Greydon Square ft. Trauma - Stranger
K-Rino - Madness
Chase Phoenix - Twenty Something
Despot - Substance D
