Ever needed to ask a question about a series, but trying to make it spoiler free just causes more problems than it solves? Ever wanted to discuss this one part about a series, but you'd end up making at least half the forum flip a table because you ruined the series for them?

Well fret no more. This thread is here to save the day. Talk away about whatever spoiler-riddled content you want. I only ask that you follow the below format so that people only see the spoilers they want to see:

The anime just finished Lelei's master exam, but we didn't actually get to see what her paper was about.
Did it say in the manga or LN what she was making her report on in order to become a master?
Or is that something that we find out later?
I'd really like to know what her report was about if they did tell readers since the anime omitted it.

Just went back and rewatched the scene you're talking about. Kind of. All they mentioned was that

It didn't actually say specifically what she had done.

I think the (usually paper) plane's just a recurring symbol. Probably symbolizing happiness or freedom or something positive. The crumpled plane would be like "Oh no".

Bell kills the Minotaur, he goes still, then the Loki family reads the marks on his back. So, is the locked status thing a choice, or does inconsistency exist between the two series?

That's an interesting catch. At this link (link to a couple pages on the LN, scroll up I think to the page above where the link takes you to see the line I'm about to reference), it appears that

"'A Minotaur done in by a Level One? No, hold up there. how do y'know the laddie was Level One?'
'The boy's Status was exposed and it was confirmed. Well, so long as Riveria can still read the hieroglyphs, that is.'"

Ok. So I just skimmed through that episode (ep8), and it appears that his status wasn't locked. It was visible when the Loki Familia went to look at it, 20:52, so it certainly wasn't locked. When it's locked it isn't visible. However, it doesn't show whether Hestia remembered to lock it or not. At ~6:48 it already shows Bell finishing up getting dressed with Hestia holding the paper, so we didn't get to see the full process.

The theory that she forgot to lock it does have weight though. Hestia seemed very troubled by the change to Bell's status called "Argonaut." She practically stared at the paper the entire time until he was just about to leave, and if my memory recalls correctly she usually locks it back after Bell starts looking at the paper. This is just a theory though.

It appears it was a concept in the LN by the way the characters were discussing it. I honestly can't say I remember whether it was mentioned or not in the main, but I was certain I remember someone's status being made invisible. I may have been mistaken though, since in ep1 it doesn't look like Hestia locks his status. Although she does make part of it invisible (his skill). I'd assume that means she can make the whole thing invisible if she wants? However, there's no basis to believe that since she only just barely managed to make his skill invisible.

On the wiki under "Level," it states that aside from Level the rest of the Status "is considered to be secret information," but nothing is mentioned about the locking process.

So given that I guess I was wrong. Unless it was mentioned in another episode, it probably wasn't a thing in S1. My bad, I must've confused Hestia's making that skill invisible with the actual locking thing that Loki does to Aiz in Sword Oratoria. Actually, from reading a couple volumes past the seasons end, I can say that his status is visible in at least one other circumstance, and that ability is plainly visible. I think Hestia only hides the skill from Bell when she gives him the paper.

So one of the subplots of the game is Genesis, the antagonist cheating. And before the final section this is resolved, though I think it's overkill. Instead of banning him, they apparently arrest him. This might be more appropriate if his hacking was affecting or endangering other players lives, but since he was rolling the dice on just his own life, I think that it's going too far for authorities to apprehend and imprison him. Even if he was a jackass.

Yeah it was overkill in my opinion, though I imagine the laws regarding VR system manipulation were probably pretty extreme and ironclad after the events of the first season. So extreme, yes though I imagine the laws and the feelings of those involved were justified. Although I imagine his sentence would be short given the infraction, age, and parties involved.

Or quite possibly because his life span would be dramatically shorter for drug use. It already looked like his character was suffering from ill effects, perhaps his body wasn't far off.

Well in retrospect, I think he had multiple cases of tampering to varying degrees other games so they probably arrested him in conjunction rather than for just the one thing. But that being said, I still think the players perspective of cheating was more appropriate than police getting involved. The only crimes I could possibly imagine him being charged with are either possession of an illegal program or some corporate violation.
