Good evening everyone, today I thought I'd share a little something for those who haven't tried this out yet.

Introducing FesteringTumor's AltimitOS skin for Rainmeter!

For those who are unfamiliar, Rainmeter is an open source desktop customization tool to customize your desktop in almost any way you can imagine. This uses Rainmeter to run a custom skin over your desktop. It works for all resolutions up to 1920x1080(my setup), all icons make AltimitOS sounds and react whenever you draw the cursor over them. As you can see, it also brings up a graphical illustration of each icon. The funnest part about all of this in my opinion though, is that you can set each icon to a particular .exe, shortcut, browser url(e.g.: automatically opens your email provider's site on your preferred web browser when you click Mail), or explorer folder. Have fun setting the The World icon to you know what! Now to adjust resolution or links for the icons and sounds and such will take a little bit of getting oriented with Rainmeter and where it stores its settings, but it's well worth it. Oh, don't forget to make sure Rainmeter loads every time you log in(I think it does that by default). And before you ask, yes! The 2D-3D pipe circle thing on the right side is animated!

    Things you will need:

    1. Rainmeter
    2. AltimitOS

And feel free to ask here if you can't figure something out. I'm sure we have a Rainmeter user here other than me if I can't get to you.

    Enjoy!

    Sorry for the late reply.

    If you have already:

Moved the skin folder into \Documents\Rainmeter\Skins
Moved the Rainmeter.ini files into %APPDATA%\Rainmeter

    Then:

If you want the black bars to match your screen size right click on them and go to "Edit Skin...".

Under the meter [LeftBar], change the "H" value to match the height of your screen resolution.
I usually take off 50 pixels so that it sits above my Windows Task Bar. Remember that images
scale so if something looks strange you may ahve to edit the "W" value as well.

Under the meter [Bar] do the same thing, changing "W" to match your resolution width.

If you want to change the sound icons make, or what programs get launched when you click on them open the Altmit
    Skin's folder and edit "settings.inc" (Right Click>Open With>Notepad).

I think theres mac alternatives to rainmeter but will these work on those you think? I mean I do have a windows but its a desktop I only plug in occisonally, I mainly use my mac book and its desktop is overall cleaner so I'd like to have it on this if I could.

Eh, it wasn't. Rainmeter has always been Windows-specific, and OS is just techie shorthand for Operating System regardless of brand.

Untitled.png Fun, My Desktop Actually Works A Lot Like This But Updated! It Took Me A Few Days, But I Got it How I Want It. Use Rainmeter For The Desktop Apps, The Leftside Links Are Interactive And Direct To The Website or System Folder of My Choice, And I Added Some Good Meters For System Info. And Its All 90% Transparent Until I Hover My Mouse On It And It'll Show Up Clear. Also, My Clock Meter Doubles As A Google Search bar. Its Actually 2 Meters. 1 Is The Standard Clock that Comes With Rainmeter, And The Other Is The Standard Google Bar. If You Put Them On Top Of Each Other, Set The Clock To 90% tansparency With Fade out Feature, And Google Bar At 90% Transparency With Fade IN Feature, You Can have Your Clock, Then When You Hover Over it, It Turns Into A Google Bar. :D

If I were not so tech-tarded I would try the OS... Sadly, I'm afraid I would kill my PC by accidentally changing a one to a zero or vice versa.

You Can Either Download Premade Skin Packs For it, Or You Can Learn How to Make One Yourself. Its All pretty Easy To Figure out How To Work. Making Your Own Isn't So Easy Though. lol

Also, Referring Back To My Desktop. Clicking On "Mailer" Send Your To The Iridium Forums, "News" Sends You to The Iridium Home Page, And When The game is Really Released "The World" Will Open The World Game! Till Then However, If Just Opens Minecraft lol
Incase You're Also Wondering, "Accessory" Opens My Pictures, "Audio" Opens Virtual DJ Pro And "Data" Opens My Downloads Folder lol
The Shutter Icon Under Those Opens A Folder Where I Put All On The Icons And Program Files That Used to Clutter My Desktop. lol

Hey, how do you make these icons clickable? I tried changing what I've seen, and I think I do something wrong.

When You Right Click On The Icons And Click Edit Skin You Will See Notepad Open With This.
In The Places Where it Says "LeftMouseDownAction" Insert The Website Address, Or File Path Of The Program You Wish It To Link To When Clicked...
Here Is the Exact Lining I have For Mine, With The FilePath Names Changed To Clarify For You Of Course.
